1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as definded in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017-2020.
2. ENTRIES, ELIGIBILITY, AND ACCOUNTABILITY
2.1 The regatta is open to MC Scows.
2.2 All boats must carry safety equipment as specified by class rules and the USCG.
2.3 The race committee will endeavor to account for all boats, but if a boat elects to to start or fails to finish the skipper must notify the race committee.
3. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS
3.1 Notices to competitors shall be posted on a cork message board in Shore Acres Yacht Club. Notices will also be available at the registration site on Regattatoolbox.com.
4. CHANGES TO SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 Any changes to sailing instructions will be addressed at the competitors' meeting and posted on the message board in Shore Acres Yacht Club.
5. SIGNALS MADE ASHORE
5.1 Signals made ashore will be displayed on the SAYC flagpole. If a postponement is signaled ashore, the warning signal will not be made less than thirty (30) minutes after the AP flag is lowered.
6. SCHEDULE OF RACES
6.1 Six (5) races will be scheduled with one(1) race constituting a regatta.
6.2 Races will be sailed back-to-back, with water and snack bars available on course between races.
6.3 The day's schedule will be:
08:30-09:30 On Shore Registration
10:00 Competitors' Meeting
11:00 First Warning Signal
16:30-17:30 (TBD) Awards, Grill and Social hour at clubhouse
6.4 No sequence of races shall be started after 16:00 hours.
7. RACING AREA
7.1 The racing area shall be the Kettle Creek and Upper Barnegat Bay (Green Island Course).
8.1 No later than the warning signal, the race committee will display the course with a number indicating the number of LEGS as appropriate. All marks to be passed to port.
8.2 Courses will be Triangle (T), Windward- Leeward (W), and Gold Cup (GC).
8.3 Courses may be modified to include a gate between the windward and leeward marks. If the course includes a gate, it will be signaled after the nubmer of legs on the course board (eg. W3G =Windward-Leeward 3 legs with a gate) and will remain open with no penalty for passing through it during the race.
9.1 The course marks used will be yellow, inflatable APS marks.
10. STARTS AND FINISHES
10.1 Races shall be started using three (3) minute dinghy starts.
10.2 The starting and finishing line shall be between the RC flag on the race committee boat and a portable, orange mark.
10.3 A boat starting later than five (5)min after her start signal will be scored DNS.
10.1 The last boat in a race shall not finish more than 30 minutes after the first finishing boat.
11. PROTESTES AND REQUESTS FOR REDRESS
11.1 Protest forms are available at the registration table in Shore Acres Yacht Club and must be submitted there no later than sixty (60) minutes after the race committee boat has docked after the last race of the day. Hearings will be held as soon as practicable on the third floor of Shore Acres Yacht Club.
12.1 The race committee will score each race and the series using the Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing. If five (5) races are sailed, a competitor's worst score will be dropped.
13.1 The deicision to participate in a race or series or to continue in one is the skipper's alone.
