Venue

The regatta will be held at the Dixie Sailing Club, 767 New Hope Church Road, Alexander City, AL 35010. Directions:  https://www.dixiesailingclub.com/about/directions/ 

Rules &
Eligibility

The Punch Bowl Regatta is open to MC Scows & all categories of sailboats 


The races will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of 
Sailing (RRS) 2017-2020, MC Sailing Association Rules, the Catalina 22 Class Association Rules, and the Sailing Instructions. Sailing Instructions will be handed out at registration.

 

Eligible participants may enter by completing an entry form on line or otherwise, registering with the organization authority and paying the entry fee.

Races

Five races are planned with three on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Weather conditions may dictate otherwise. One race constitutes a regatta.

Scoring 

The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply with all races counting towards

the final results. No score will be excluded. This changes RRS A2. 

Fleets 

Possible fleets are: MC Scow, Catalina 22 (Gold and Silver), Laser, and

Handicap Fleet. At least three boats are required to make a racing fleet. If less

than three C22’s enter Silver Fleet, all C22’s will race as Gold Fleet.

NOTE!! IF three 
or more like boats, other than those listed above, register BEFORE Friday March 22 then trophies will be awarded for them. See Registration paragraph of this NOR. 

Awards

Trophies will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers in

each fleet, using the Portsmouth Yardstick for the Handicap Fleet. All regatta entrants are eligible for these awards.

Registration
Boat registration is $45.
Fee includes continental breakfasts & the catered bbq dinner for the skipper. 

Extra Dinners: $10 for each additional crew and/or friend’s dinner.


Food:

Free “Hot Dogs and Chips” (BYOB) will be available Friday evening for early arrivals

from 4:30 - 7 PM. Free continental breakfasts will be provided on both Saturday

and Sunday. No lunches will be provided on either Saturday or Sunday. We will

have a catered dinner on Saturday night. Food requirements must be stated NLT

April 2 to ensure availability!


Hats: $15 for a hat. IF you want a pink one need to order early!


Registration this year can be accomplished in any two ways, and NONE require money to be sent before checking in at the club. Pay by cash or check at DSC only! Do not pay on line.
