Thirty seven sailors from 10 area lakes participated in the 18th annual
North Lake MC Fall Classic Regatta over the weekend. Dan Fink from
Little Muskego Lake won the first race in moderate winds. Races 2 and 3
had to be abandoned by PRO Patty Brink because of strong winds and gusts
over 25 MPH. Sailing on Sunday morning was glorious despite dire
weather predictions of high winds and thunderstorms. Peter Toumanoff
from Pewaukee Lake aced Race 4 and Bill Biersach came on strong to win
Race 5.
Dan Fink presented himself with the new Dan Fink MC Fall Classic
traveling trophy. Dan generously donated the trophy this year which
included an inscription of all past winners. Thanks Dan!
The new North Lake clubhouse was not completed in time for the regatta,
but the porch was able to be used for shelter and a place for lunch.
Lori Schneider and Lynda Vander Broek again provided outstanding food
and beverages. Next year the building will definitely be completed!
