MC Sailors,
It is with great shock and sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Griffiths.
Scott was a long-time Lake Lotawana sailor, competing in both the C-Scow class, and dominating the MC Scow class. He could also be seen sailing his Finn on the lake whenever it got too windy for the MC Scow. Scott’s dock was always covered with sailboats. His love for sailing was so great that he could often be seen sailing after work, and after his retirement, any time at all. Scott often travelled to race in both Finn and MC Regattas, nationally and internationally.
He was also a skilled drummer in two bands, The Accidental Project, and The Thursdays. You can listen to The Accidental Project on Spotify.
Most importantly, he was the definition of a gentleman sailor, with a warm and generous spirit, always eager to help other sailors improve their skills on the racecourse.
Scott will be greatly missed, both here at Lake Lotawana, and across the entire sailing community.
