The MC Sailing Association is providing a one day instructional seminar on setting up, tuning, and racing the MC to all members & non-members of the class. The instructors are past MC champions & professionals who are sharing their extensive knowledge of racing the MC with you in a casual, fun atmosphere, ultimately making individuals better sailors by encouraging the enjoyment of the sport of MC sailing to the fullest. Ted Keller is a professional sailor and part of the Melges Team.
Ted is a tactician and trimmer in the Melges 24 and 20 sportboat circuits.
He grew up racing Butterflies at Torch Lake, MI and has extensive experience racing scows:
MC, C, E, Melges 17, and A's.
The MC has been a specialty area for Ted. His first boat was hull# 526 and he began racing MC's in the 1990s. Since then, Ted has won 45 regattas, including championships in the ILYA, WMYA, as well as 5 MC Blue Chip titles.
Ted is an instructor at Melges' Zenda University held at Lake Eustis each March. He also puts on clinics throughout the midwest and provides coaching in the MC and E.
