This regatta is open to all sailors of MC scows. This is an MCSA sanctioned event. Each skipper must be a current member of MCSA and meet trophy age requirements before the first scheduled race. Non-MCSA members will be scored DNC for all races. All yachts must comply with the MC class scantlings prior to the preparatory signal of the first scheduled race. A boat may sail with a different sail number from its hull number if it registers with that sail number, and must compete with that number for the entire event. 
 Weighing All boats will be inspected to ensure compliance with the class weight requirement. Based on the inspection result some boats may need to be weighed and recertified. Weighing will take place on club grounds at a location to be announced.
The organizing authority (OA) for this regatta is the MC Sailing Association (MCSA).
The races will be governed by the rules defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS).
  1. The sailing instructions will consist of the instructions in RRS Appendix S, Standard Sailing Instructions, and supplementary sailing instructions that will be published and be posted on the official notice board located at the club.
  2. Racing Area:  The racing will be the waters of Pewaukee Lake.
  3. Courses to be sailed are all windward leeward courses as shown in the Standard Sailing Instructions Appendix S.
  4. No race will be started with the wind under 5 mph.
  5. Flags will be the primary means of communication on the water however the RC will attempt to make VHF radio contact regarding OCSs, weather issues, safety concerns, and other actions of the RC where clarification might be helpful to the sailors.   The competitor channel to be used will be posted.
  6. Racing rules 30.1, 33, 35, 62.1, A4.2 and A11 will be changed.  The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions. The sailing instructions may also change other racing rules.
  7. Competitors give absolute right and permission for video footage or photographs of themselves or their boat generated during an MCSA event to be published in any media for press, editorial or advertising purposes.

 Scoring & Trophies
The Low Point System, RRS A4, will apply, except that RRS A2 is changed so that each boat's total score will be the sum of her scores for all races unless seven races are completed. If seven races are completed, each boat shall discard her worst score except when prohibited under RRS 90.3(b).
Three races need to be completed before a National Champion is recognized and perpetual trophies awarded. One race constitutes a regatta for purposes of awarding keeper trophies. Awards will be based on her finishes in the overall fleet.

  • Top 15 Overall (any age, male or female)
  • Top 3 Masters (50 - 59 years of age)
  • Top 3 Grand Masters (60 - 69 years of age)
  • Top Mega Master (70 - 79 years of age)
  • Top Old Salt (80+ years of age)
  • Top Woman-any age
  • Top Youth (under 25 on August 24)
  • Top Single-Handed Sailor

If three races have been completed no warning signal will be made after 1200 hours.  If three races have not been completed this time limit is extended to 1500 hours. No warning signal shall be made after 1500.

$190 ea - Boat registration if register on or before August 8.  $210 after August 8.

$  60 ea - Youth (under 25 on August 24) registration (Thanks to generousity of MCSA)


Each Boat Registration fee includes: Breakfasts, Lunches, Receptions, Friday Appetizers, and Saturday Dinner, and Shirt for all Skippers.


$75 ea - Crew or Guest package includes: all Meals, Parties, and Shirt

Regatta Shirts ordered by August 8 will be in the bag at registration. Regatta Shirts ordered after August 8 may be available for your size onsite. If not, then they will be re-ordered and mailed to you. There will be a limited quantity of shirts for sale onsite at the regatta on first come first serve basis.
The Yacht Club has two ramps for launching. NO DRY SAILING will be permitted out of the PYC.  Boats will be moored in the Yacht Club bay.  Each boat will need to have a buoy, at least 20’ of anchor line, and an anchor.  Taxi service will be provided prior to and immediately following the races.  Mooring & lifts may also be available for those with private housing. NO overnight pier parking will be permitted. 
Crew & Spectator Boats Spectator/tender boats are welcome. Gas is for sale at the Club. Every effort will be made to provide ample spectator boats for those wishing to get out on the water to watch the action.

There will be limited private housing available. If you would like to request housing - please contact Lesa Gutenkunst at 262-336-5902 prior to  8/23  and we will try very hard to accommodate you.

NOTE:  No RV's or overnight sleeping will be allowed on the PYC grounds

The race organizers (organizing authority, race committee, protest committee, host club, sponsors, or any other organization or official) will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor, or in the case of minors, each competitor’s parent or guardian, agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
